Merchants finish regular season with 16-14 record

July 31, 2021 – Seattle, WA: The Everett Merchants today closed out their regular season with a 4-1 loss to the Seattle-Cheney Studs. Next week the Merchants will travel to Lincoln, California to compete in the first ever West Coast World Series.

Everett got on the board first in the third inning, Jordan Justice’s sacrifice fly made the game 1-0. Starter Jared Maxfield pitched the first three innings and did not allow a hit while lowering his ERA to 2.0. Next up for the Merchants on the mound was Kenji Miller who also went three innings without allowing a run.
The Merchants would remain in the league until the bottom of the eighth inning when Seattle would score four times thanks to a two-run double by Evan Scavatto and a two-run single by Jonas Kim.
Everett only managed four hits in the game, two by Justice and the other two from Riley Quinton and Jackson Ramstead.
