Merchants Sweep Studs in DH

June 12, 2021 – Tacoma, WA: The Merchants finished off a strong week on Saturday sweeping the Seattle-Cheney Studs 9-5 and 7-5. Everett is now 5-1 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in league play.
In the first game, Kenji Miller (Everett CC) picked up the win in his Merchant debut going 5.0 innings. Bryce Lindberg (Bellevue College) had a strong overall game collecting a pair of hits and having an outfield assist. Riley Quinton (Arizona Christian) also had a pair of hits while driving in three. All 10 Merchant hitters had at least one hit and Jordan Justice (Everett CC) hit his first home run of the summer.
In Game Two, the Merchants held on for a 7-5 victory. Calvin Kirchoff (Bellevue College) got that start and went a strong 6.0 innings for the win. Everett exploded for a six runs in the sixth inning and the Merchants turned the game over to Jake Suyla (Olympic College) who came in for the 3.0 inning save. Jaxsen Sweum (Whitworth) had a pair of doubles while Max Nealon (Pacific University) and Cole Cramer (Linn-Benton) each had a pair of hits.
Everett has three home games this coming week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) at Funko Field before heading up to Alaska for six games. As a reminder that fans are allowed at Funko Field and to please use the north entrance of the stadium.
