Merchants Move to 2-0 In League Games

June 9, 2021 – Bellevue, WA: When a team gets strong pitching and hot hitting, they are hard to beat. On Wednesday night, the Merchants came to play as the moved to 2-0 in league play with a 16-1 win over the Northwest Honkers at Bellevue College. The Merchants pounded out 12 hits and took advantage of six Honker errors. Eight different Everett hitters had at least one hit.
Jackson Sweum and Max Nealon continued their hot hitting. Sweum launched his third home run of the season and drove in six runs. In three games he now has 13 RBI’s. Nealon had three hits, and scored four times, to raise his batting average to .500 on the season.
Eumir Sepulveda got the start and went 3.0 innings and Cole Cramer picked up the win in his Merchant debut on the mound striking out 10 batters over 4.0 innings allowing just one hit.
