Coach Harold Pyatte has been involved with elite summer collegiate baseball for nearly 50 years!  His
1988 Team won the NBC World Series and in 2005 the National Baseball Congress recognized him
for his lifetime achievements by electing him to their Hall of Fame.  Throughout the years, several
former players have gone onto play in the major leagues as well as countess others who have been
drafted and signed professional contracts.

The team is composed of current college students, college grates and former professional players. The
roster is limited to 25 players by the league and many players hold summer jobs in addition to playing
ball or they are continuing with their education with summer classes.

The team plays a 24-game league schedule, in addition, th team plays between 10-20 games per
season with non-league opponents in tournaments (Kamloops International Baseball Tournament,
Grand Forks International Tournament, etc...).  The team also plays a yearly exhibition game against
Mariners minor league affiliate, the Everett AquaSox.

The season runs June through July, with the ultimate goal of playing in the NBC World Series.  In
2017, the Merchants finished in second place at the tournament and two of their games were televised
on ESPN.

The program focuses on development of players not only on the field but as contributing members of
the community.  Stress is placed on a positive playing attitude and strong work ethic.  The philosophy
of a wholesome family atmosphere is emphasized both at Funko Field at Everett Memorial Stadium
and throughout the Pacific International League.

The team also conducts a free youth baseball camp each summer for the community.
