Coach Hov was named pitching coach for the 2019 season on May 8th. Brandon pitched for the Merchants for four seasons, going 6-1 in 21 games and is currently the pitching coach at Eastlake High School
He attended Issaquah High School where he was a first team All-KingCo 4A pitcher selection, KingCo 4A MVP, first team all-state as well as a selection onto the Seattle Times Star Times team. Rated as the 21st top prospect in the state by Baseball Northwest as senior and signed a NLI to play at Gonzaga University before opting to attend Bellevue College.
During his two seasons at Bellevue, he appeared in 14 games posting a 3-3 record and a 1.27 ERA while earning hits to a .212 batting average earning a scholarship to play at the University of Missouri.
Brandon comes from an athletic family. His father, Mike Mahovlich, threw javelin for four years for the University of Washington as well as for the Canadian National team in the 1984 and the 1988 Olympics. His mother, Debbie Dunlap, is in the Washington State USSSA Softball Player Hall of Fame while his younger brother Mark Mahovlich is a freshman on the Bellevue College baseball team.
